Bengaluru: The Karnataka high court has issued an interim order permitting the admission of students who have passed SSLC examination to various paramedical diploma courses for the year 2026-27.It comes as a relief for the Karnataka State Paramedical Institutions Managements Association, which has around 640 colleges.Justice ES Indiresh observed in the recent order that the member institutions of the association are eligible to admit students to various diploma courses, including those in medical laboratory technology, optometry technology and imaging technology.The order is subject to the consideration of the representation by the association to the state govt and the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions (NCAHP).The association submitted to commission on Feb 11 with a request to relax admission criteria for the year 2026-27 and to the state govt on March 23, 2026, with a plea for granting approval for admissions, based on SSLC qualification (earlier criteria), to the courses that were omitted under the NCAHP Act.
