Eleven Indians, including Karandeep Kochhar, will be put to test in the Singapore Open that will tee off on Thursday at the Sentosa Golf Club here.
Karandeep will approach the International Series (IS) event with optimism after finishing a creditable tied-fifth at the IS Japan earlier this month. The 26-year-old, however, is cognisant of the complexities of the course and the bearing that the heat could have on the outcome.
“This is one tournament I look forward to. It (Sentosa) is the best track in Asia, but it is a tough one. It is a long golf course, so there may not be a lot of birdie opportunities. The heat will also be a key factor; there will be a lot of fatigue involved. It feels like we are in an oven, so rest and recovery will be really important,” said Karandeep on Wednesday.
