Kanpur: A female student of Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj Vishwavidyalaya (CSJMU) accused three male clasmates of molestation and attempted gangrape in a classroom, in an incident dated Mar 16. Police took the three accused students into custody and began interrogation. The university’s internal committee investigated the matter too.

The student stated that on Mar 16, three male students called her to the classroom to have a meal. The trio began molesting her and attempted gangrape. When she screamed, they threatened to kill her. Meanwhile, on seeing two students approaching the classroom, the accused fled. It was reported that the complainant’s father is a teacher in another educational institute in the city.

On the girl’s complaint, police took all three accused students into custody for interrogation, said Kalyanpur acting SHO Mohammad Aarif and FIR would be registered.
