Kanpur: A programme titled ‘Shakti Samvad’ was organised in Kanpur on Thursday to create awareness among women about safety, legal rights and cyber crimes.The event was chaired by commissioner of police (CP), Kanpur Nagar, Raghubir Lal, and attended by more than 200 women from across the district.A short film on cyber security, ‘Silent Crime’, was screened to raise awareness among participants about cyber crimes and the importance of online safety.Additional police commissioner (Headquarters/Crime Against Women) Sneha Tiwari delivered a detailed presentation on Mission Shakti. The presentation covered laws related to women’s safety, constitutional rights, major legislations for women’s protection, identification and prevention of cyber crimes, the process of filing complaints and various helpline services.Addressing the gathering, CP Raghubir Lal said the safety, dignity and empowerment of women are among the highest priorities of UP Police. He urged women not to conceal incidents of crime, harassment or cyber fraud and to promptly inform the police so that timely and effective action can be taken.
