Kanpur: A 32-year-old man allegedly died by suicide after drinking dye and later hanging himself following a dispute with his wife in Shakti Nagar area under Chakeri police station limits in Kanpur late Monday.Magavendra Pratap Singh worked in a CCTV camera company and lived with his wife, Roshni. His elder brother, Suraj, said Magavendra had completed BSc and BEd but remained under stress after failing to secure a job.Magavendra married in 2023 and the couple had no children. According to his family, the couple often had disputes. Following an argument on Monday night, he allegedly drank dye and later hanged himself in a room.Family members repeatedly called him, but he did not open the gate. They broke it open and found his body hanging. Police reached the spot after being informed, conducted an inquiry, and sent the body for postmortem.Station in charge Ajay Prakash Mishra said no suicide note was found. Further action would be taken on the basis of the postmortem report.
