Kalaburagi: Kalaburagi city police commissioner Sharanappa SD informed that Station Bazar police arrested two thieves, and seized gold jewellery and cash worth Rs 16.2 lakh on Tuesday.Speaking to the media, he said Sagar Singh Taka, 19, father of Rahul Singh, Panchsheel Nagar, Kalaburagi, was arrested in connection with a burglary at a house in PWD quarters. A 10g gold ring worth Rs 1.6 lakh, a 2.5g gold bangle worth Rs 40 thousand, a 12.4g gold locket of approximatly Rs 2 lakh, a 6g gold jeeramani worth Rs 96 thousand, a 8g gold boramala close to Rs 1.3 lakh, and Rs 2 lakh cash after selling the gold, including Rs 8.2 lakh, were seized.

In another case, Basavaraja Erappa Biradar, 38, of Sadlapur village, Humanabad taluk, Bidar, who worked as a watchman and stole from the house of Sanjay Singh in Indira Nagar, Kalaburagi city, was arrested. Gold ornaments and cash worth Rs 8 lakh were seized from him.DCP Praveen H Nayak, south sub-division ACP Sharanbasappa Subedar, and Station Bazar police station PI Gurulingappa Gowda Patil, Prabhakara, Siraj Patel, Shivalinga, Yallappa, Sanganna, and Mosin, conducted an investigation, arrested two thieves, and handed them over to judicial custody, said Sharanappa SD.
