Gandhinagar: The Gujarat govt on Tuesday transferred 28 mid-level and junior-level IAS officers and issues transfer orders for 13 Gujarat Administrative Service (GAS) officers. The exercise saw changes in key municipal corporations, district administrations and state-run agencies, with new appointments for municipal commissioners, district development officers (DDOs) and heads of public sector undertakings.Among the key appointments, Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA) director Gaurang Makwana, who was also holding additional charge as managing director of Uttar Gujarat Vij Company Ltd (UGVCL), was appointed as the utility’s full-time MD.Junagadh municipal commissioner Prabhav Joshi was transferred as MD of the Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC). He will be replaced by I R Vala, secretary of the Sports Authority of Gujarat.Porbandar municipal commissioner H J Prajapati was posted as DDO of Amreli district, while SUDA chief executive officer Suthar Raj Rameshchandra was appointed the new municipal commissioner of Porbandar.K J Rathod, director of Skill Development, Gandhinagar, was named MD of Dakshin Gujarat Vij Company Ltd (DGVCL).In other major changes, Gujarat State Social Welfare Board chairman Mahesh Jani was appointed mission director of the Gujarat Urban Livelihood Mission. Dahod DDO Smit Santosh Lodha was transferred as deputy municipal commissioner of Surat Municipal Corporation.PGVCL MD, K P Joshi, was appointed DDO of Devbhumi Dwarka, while Gujarat Medical Services Corporation Ltd managing director D K Brahmbhatt was posted as DDO of Gandhinagar district. Registrar of cooperative societies M P Pandya will take over as MD of Gujarat Medical Services Corporation Ltd.Hiren Barot, project administrator of the Tribal Area Sub Plan in Aravalli, was appointed DDO of Dahod. GIDC executive director B K Joshi was posted as registrar of cooperative societies, while R N Kuchara, director of DRDA, Aravalli, was appointed regional commissioner of municipalities, Rajkot.
