Mysuru: MK Ramesh, president of Medical Assessment and Rating Board, National Medical Commission, on Saturday urged young doctors to embrace change, adapt to technological advancements and uphold their responsibility to society as they begin their professional journey.Delivering JSS Medical College Graduation Day address, Ramesh said earning a medical degree is not merely the completion of academic studies, but the beginning of a lifelong commitment to patient care and service.Degrees were conferred on 195 MBBS graduates, and Dr Purna Bansal emerged as the golden girl by securing seven gold medals and six cash awards apart from the Best Outgoing Student award. Ramesh noted that obtaining a medical degree is particularly demanding, as it requires not only mastering theoretical knowledge, but also gaining practical experience through rigorous clinical training in hospitals. Such training, he said, prepares young doctors to face real-life challenges and respond to critical situations with confidence and compassion.Emphasising that “change is the only constant in life,” Ramesh highlighted how rapid technological developments are transforming the healthcare sector. Innovations such as AI, telemedicine and digital health records are reshaping medical practice and improving accessibility to healthcare services. However, he cautioned graduates to use technology as a tool rather than becoming overly dependent on it. Dr Prakhar Gupta won two gold medals and a cash award; Dr Sandra Anna Sam won a gold medal and two cash awards; Dr Yashika Sharma won a gold medal; Dr Sneha Manosh Kumar won two cash awards; and Dr Sharanya Bose and Dr Dyuksha Arora won a cash award each.On the occasion, the Best Research Publication and Best Teacher awards were presented to the college faculties. Suttur Mutt seer Shivarathri Deshikendra Swami graced the occasion.CG Betsurmath, Executive Secretary, JSS Mahavidyapeetha, and Dr H Basavanagowdappa, vice-chancellor, JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research, were present.|
