Varun Sriram, Partner, JSA Advocates & Solicitors, said the JSA Boardroom Connect Chennai Edition brought together professionals from diverse industries, particularly the manufacturing sector, to discuss evolving regulatory and legal issues facing businesses.
Speaking on the sidelines of the roundtable held on July 24, Sriram said the discussion covered a range of issues, including succession planning, business continuity, data protection and AI governance, as businesses prepare for the regulatory landscape ahead.
“We had a lovely set of panel people from different industries, but more from the manufacturing sector. We discussed various evolving regulatory and legal issues and trends. We also shared some thoughts with respect to succession planning, business continuity planning, data protection and AI governance,” he said.
Sriram said the discussion also looked at how the regulatory environment could evolve over the next five to 10 years and the implications for businesses.
“What we really see in the next five to 10 years and where possibly the regulatory landscape lies ahead was also discussed. It was an interesting discussion, with a lot of takeaways that we all had,” he said.
He added that the diversity of experiences among participants enriched the discussion and enabled participants to learn from each other’s perspectives.
“All of us have had different experiences and it was wonderful to share some thoughts and also hear others and their perspectives,” Sriram said.
