Kolkata: Chandra Bose, grandnephew of Subhas Chandra Bose on Friday called for unity among communities to counter what he described as “divisive forces”. In a social media post that drew sharp reactions and trolling, Bose termed his decision to join BJP a “historic blunder”. Having contested the 2016 assembly and the 2019 Lok Sabha polls on BJP tickets, he alleged the party’s primary objective was to polarise voters.“It’s time for all, not just political parties, to come together and fight the divisive and communal politics of BJP. They are pursuing a policy of polarisation. It’s anti-national and anti-Constitutional,” Bose told TOI.His post read: “It was a ‘historic blunder’ to join BJP-but I realised it sooner than later! A party’s only intention is to divide-polarise voters just to win elections cannot be my scene! Communalism cannot be fought by communalism! Let us unite all communities to protect the fabric of our nation. Like minded parties, activists and the people must come together to defeat divisive forces who are out to ruin the country. Jai Hind!” tnn
