Chittorgarh: Jodhpur Football Academy edged out Jhunjhunu 4-2 in a thrilling penalty shootout to emerge Rajasthan Under-20 State Boys Football Championship title at the Sainik School Ground.As per the guidelines of the All India Football Federation and under the auspices of Rajasthan Football Association, the final match of the state level football competition organized by District Football Association Chittorgarh was played between Jodhpur Football Academy and Jhunjhunu.Both the teams displayed a high level of game but the score remained goalless till the regulation period.After that a tie breaker shootout took place in which Jodhpur Football Academy emerged victorious by 4-2 over Jhunjhunu.The grand closing ceremony was held on Thursday at the Sainik School ground in a solemn atmosphere. The entire event showcased a wonderful blend of sportsmanship, discipline, and competition.Manohar Lal Anjana, former head of Chhoti Sadri, was the chief guest at the closing ceremony, while Chittorgarh District Football Association president Puran Anjana presided over. Special guests included former District Congress president Bhairulal Chaudhary, former Saras Dairy chairman Badri Lal Jagpura, Rajasthan Football Association secretary Dilip Singh Shekhawat, and association joint secretaries Dinesh Singh, Sunil, and Pawan Sharma. Players showcase their talent, opening the way to the national level.Chittorgarh secretary Faisal Khan informed that the players’ outstanding performances in this four-day competition attracted the attention of the selectors. This competition will select the Rajasthan team, which will participate in the national football competition to be held in Chhattisgarh.Following the final match, the winning and runner-up teams were honoured with trophies, mementos, and prizes at the closing ceremony. The spectators applauded the players’ achievements and encouraged them. Important contributions of referees and support staff were also appreciated by the organisers.
