Ponda: Ponda police on Saturday arrested Suhana Naik, 36, from Bhandarwada-Amona for allegedly cheating three people from a single family of Rs 18 lakh by promising them jobs in the health department.Police said Naik, employed on a contractual basis in a govt department, cultivated a network of contacts, and approached peopel from Usgao, promising them jobs and collected money from them.She offered positions of a homeopathic doctor, a driver, and a clerk in the health department. “The three believed her, and gave the money she demanded. When she failed to deliver on her promise, they filed a police complaint,” a police official said.Naik was remanded in six days of police custody.
