Kanpur: JK Max registered a thrilling 18-run victory over Rimjhim XI to set up a title clash with Goldi XI in the Rama Mishra Memorial Challenger Trophy cricket tournament at TSH Ground on Saturday.Opting to bat first, JK Max posted a competitive 196 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs. Rakesh Mishra and Mohammad Shareef were the key contributors, scoring 52 and an unbeaten 55, respectively. Rakesh’s 31-ball knock included five boundaries and a six, while Shareef struck 10 boundaries and a six in his brisk 25-ball innings. For Rimjhim XI, Aayush Pathak was the pick of the bowlers with 3 for 28. In reply, Rimjhim XI had a shaky start, losing both openers for just 16 runs. At the end of 16 overs, Rimjhim XI were well placed at 163 for 3, but the match turned after the dismissals of Kulvindar (56) and Shamim (74). The side eventually finished at 178 for 9 in 20 overs. Neeraj Shukla starred with the ball for JK Max, claiming 4 for 28, and was adjudged Player of the Match.
