According to Anand, the temperatures, both maximum and minimum, will start rising from next week.“There will be a rise of 2 to 3 degrees in the minimum temperature and at least 2 degrees in the maximum temperature across the state from Tuesday onwards,” Anand said, reiterating that from the end of this month, summer would set in.Besides, rain, which generally happens during this time of the year, did not occur this season, he said, adding, “There has been no rainfall this winter anywhere across the state, including Ranchi, and there are no chances of any rainfall across the state in the next seven days.”Explaining the phenomenon, he said that no rainfall occurred due to the lack of very strong western disturbances this time.An induced cyclonic circulation used to be formed near Rajasthan due to strong western disturbances, and the circulation used to move eastwards while accumulating moisture from the Arabian Sea. As it used to reach Madhya Pradesh, it (the circulation) collected moisture from the Bay of Bengal while moving eastwards and caused rain in Jharkhand, he explained.“However, due to a lack of strong western disturbances, there has been no rain this season in the state,” Anand said. The little western disturbances the state had only resulted in the formation of some clouds at different places. On Saturday, the highest maximum temperature of 32.4°C was recorded at Chaibasa, while the lowest minimum temperature of 8.8°C was recorded at Daltonganj. The highest and the lowest minimum temperatures in the state capital were 26.6°C and 11° C, the Met office added.
