Ranchi: Learning levels of students studying in Classes 1 to 5 across 1,028 schools in Latehar district will be assessed under the “Mera Vidyalaya Nipun Evam Main Bhi Nipun 2.0” programme of Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC).
The initiative focuses on foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN), identified as a key foundation of children’s academic learning under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Latehar district education officer-cum-district programme officer Gautam Kumar Sahu appealed to teachers and school heads to make concerted efforts to improve the learning outcomes of students. “If children do not acquire foundational literacy and numeracy skills in the early classes, it adversely affects their learning in higher classes,” he said.
Sahu urged headmasters, assistant teachers and newly appointed assistant teachers to give their full contribution towards making schools “Nipun” and ensuring students in Classes 1 to 5 attain the expected FLN competencies.
He said the collective effort would help Latehar emerge as a leading district in education in Jharkhand.
