Ranchi: The Ranchi office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday predicted clear sky, bright sunshine, and a slight rise in the maximum temperature across Jharkhand on Holi, bringing cheer to revellers planning outdoor celebrations.Ranchi IMD director Abhishek Anand said, “Neither rain nor extreme heat conditions will spoil the spirit of festival of colours. Most districts are expected to witness bright sunshine with dry weather conditions the next few days. The maximum temperatures can record a increase by 1-2°C on Tuesday and thereafter, a gradual rise by 2-3°C across the state from Friday.”On Monday, Ranchi recorded a maximum temperature of 30.8°C, an increase of 1.7 °C from the normal temperature, Jamshedpur 34.8°C, an increase of 1.3°C, Daltonganj 35.4°C, an increase by 4.4°C, Bokaro 34.1°C, an increase of 5.3°C, and Chaibasa 33.8°C, a rise of 3.5°C.Saraikela automatic weather station (AWS) recorded 35.6°C, the highest maximum temperature in the state, while Hazaribagh AWS recorded 14.2°C, the lowest minimum temperature.Meanwhile, the festive spirit has taken over the city, with shops reporting brisk sales of colours. Outbound trains and buses from Ranchi to Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and several other parts of the state continued to witness a heavy passenger rush on Monday, as people head to their native places to celebrate the festival.
