Dhanbad: Rashida Naaz, 17, from Jharia in the district secured the first position in the science stream by securing an impressive 97.8% in the Class XII board examination conducted by the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC).A resident of Jamadoba Ramzanpur, Rashida scored 489 marks out of 500, with her achievement creating an atmosphere of celebration across her locality. Her father, Rustam Ansari, has a private job, while her mother, Gulfasha Parveen, is a homemaker. Despite limited resources, Rashida, a student of DAV High School at Patherdih, never allowed challenges to affect her academic focus.Speaking about her preparations, Rashida said she relied more on classroom learning and guidance from her teachers rather than online classes. Mathematics is her favourite subject, while she scored the highest marks in chemistry.She credited her success to her parents, teachers, and especially her elder sister, who guided her studies until Class VIII, when she had no access to coaching. Rashida said that topping the state was beyond her expectations, but said that consistent effort and confidence made it possible.Rashida aspires to become a professor and contribute to the field of education.Rashida was followed by Md Faizan Alam who secured 483 marks and Akanksha Kumari and Sana Aafrin, who both got 481.
