Ranchi: Trade bodies in Jharkhand, while welcoming the budgetary allocations provided to various sectors for overall development of the state, rued that the budget lacks clarity on allocations for the industrial development.Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI) president Aditya Malhotra said industrial development is the backbone of the state’s economy and enables widespread employment generation.“The budget’s emphasis on infrastructure, MSMEs, and skill development is commendable, but greater provisions for capital investment, interest subsidies, technological upgradation, and cluster development for industries were desired,” Malhotra added.A total of Rs 541.30 crore has been allocated for the industries sector in the annual budget for FY 2026-27. The allocation in the sector was Rs 486.32 crore in the last fiscal.Malhotra further said that dedicated incentive packages, particularly for manufacturing, food processing, textiles, and mineral-based industries, were also desired from the budget.“With the Rs 1.27 lakh crore investment proposals Jharkhand has received in the recent World Economic Forum, the finance minister had mentioned that around 45,000 employment opportunities will be created in the state, which will prove a game-changer,” he added.
