Hyderabad: Congress MP Mallu Ravi on Saturday alleged that Jeevan Reddy had fallen into the BRS trap and demanded that he explain to the people of Telangana why former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao-led BRS should return to power. He termed Jeevan Reddy’s decision to switch to the BRS as his “personal choice”, but criticised him for attacking the Congress govt and advocating KCR’s return to power, calling it “opportunistic politics.”Mallu Ravi further alleged that several prominent political leaders had fallen into the BRS trap and lost the political relevance they once had while in the Congress. He said that quitting the Congress due to personal disappointments, without waiting for an appropriate time for the party to address concerns of its senior leaders, had left leaders such as D Srinivas and Nagam Janardhan Reddy without any political significance in the BRS.Earlier, Mallu Ravi met the chairman of the railway board to discuss the Dornakal-Gadwal new railway line. Later, the Congress MP claimed that the chairman responded positively and directed officials to examine the DPR and submit it to the Cabinet within the current financial year.
