Ranchi: A 26-year-old Army jawan was found hanging in an abandoned cycle stand in city’s Dhurwa area on Monday, police said.The jawan, identified as Aman Kumar, 26, posted in Delhi, had come back to his native place around a month ago for his wedding with a woman from Pundag area.
“The body was first spotted by some locals at around 12 noon, and they informed police. Preliminary investigation revealed he left his residence in Jagannathpur at around 5 pm on Sunday and did not return,” Heeralal Shah, sub-inspector of Dhurwa police station, said.A two-wheeler was also recovered from near the body. “Water and liquor bottles, and cigarette packets were also recovered from the spot. However, no suicide note was recovered. Forensic teams arrived at the spot after receiving information,” Shah added.He said a preliminary probe indicated he died by suicide. “However, the exact reason can only be ascertained after the autopsy report arrives. The body was sent for post-mortem examination to Rims.”
