As per directions of the chief minister, ‘Janaspandana’ grievance redressal programmes will be held at taluk offices on the first Saturday of every month and at hobli centres on the third Saturday. A district-level programme held at hobli centres will be of great help to the public, said district commissioner KS Lata Kumari. The govt has created a separate Department of Public Services to address public grievances effectively,” she said.Speaking after inaugurating the Janaspandana programme at the playground of Dudd Govt High School, Lata Kumari said the CM had directed officials to extend the initiative to the hobli level. Accordingly, the district-level programme was launched at Dudd hobli. District-level officers attended the programme, heard grievances from the public and initiated steps to resolve them, she added.“Instead of people travelling to district and taluk offices, officials are now coming closer to them. This will be of immense help to the public,” she said. The programme received complaints related to land records, road repairs, land surveys, cultivation certificates, compensation, road encroachments, bus stops and public transport facilities. The status of these applications and the progress made in resolving them will be reviewed regularly, she said.Residents welcomed the move and urged officials to ensure prompt disposal of applications received during the programme. “Now, we can raise our issues at the taluk level itself. The programme is a boon for the people of the district and should be implemented effectively,” said Aruna, a resident of Sakleshpur.
