JAIPUR: Counting of votes for the Jaipur Municipal Corporation began on Monday amid tight security, with officials saying entry to designated counting centres was restricted to authorised persons.Security personnel have been deployed in and around the counting centres as votes for all 150 wards are being counted. Jaipur Municipal Corporation is the state’s largest civic body in the current elections and has more than 24 lakh electors.As of 10.30am, results from 28 of the 150 wards had been declared. The BJP had won 20 wards, while Congress had secured seven. An Independent candidate had also won one ward.The winners declared so far include:Ward 44: Naveen Bhandari — BJPWard 92: Sheela Sharma — BJPWard 141: Satish Sharma — BJPWard 52: Hanuman Saini — CongressWard 2: Maniraj Singh — CongressWard 31: Vijay Agrawal — BJPWard 32: Seema Sharma — CongressWard 33: Seema Yadav — BJPWard 51: Manmohan Gurjar — CongressWard 21: Rakesh Lata — CongressWard 22: Virendra Singh — BJPWard 23: Vikas Bareth — BJPWard 12: Rajendra Saini – BJPWard 83: Natwar Lal – BJPCounting is continuing at the designated centres, with officials expected to announce further results as the counting progresses.
