Kolkata: Jadavpur University will hold elections for a students’ representative in the internal complaints committee (ICC) between the second and third week of March.
The ICC handles sexual harassment complaints and other forms of discrimination at workplaces. A JU official said, “The period between the second and third week of March is chosen to hold the elections, considering the academic calendars of all the faculties. Unless any special circumstance arises or any special advisory is issued, the election will take place at that time.”
Faculty-wise sub-committees were formed to fix election dates for each faculty. “The arts faculty sub-committee will hold the meeting on Feb 13 and the engineering faculty committee on Feb 16 to decide on dates,” said an official.
