Kolkata: Jadavpur University on Wednesday formed a committee with VC Chiranjib Bhattacharjee as the chairperson and pro-VC Amitava Datta as the vice-chairperson to oversee, coordinate and facilitate activities and initiatives under the Institute of Eminence (IoE) framework.
The state had written to JU, stating they would provide Rs 250 crore and asked the university to seek Rs 1,000 crore from the Centre, as prescribed in the budget allocation.
The committee, comprising professors of different departments, will prepare a detailed project report on the infrastructure and academic demands of the institute, aimed at strengthening academic excellence, interdisciplinary collaboration, research and innovation, and the overall development of JU.
