Kolkata: Aggrieved over EC’s move to change its electoral symbol for Bengal bypolls, Indian Secular Front (ISF) moved Calcutta High Court on Monday. EC allotted ‘envelope’ symbol, earlier used by ISF, to Democratic Trinamool Congress — Ritabrata Banerjee’s dissident TMC faction — replacing ISF’s insignia with ‘almirah’. ISF lawmaker Naushad Siddiqui accused EC of unilaterally changing symbols. Meanwhile, Mamata Banerjee Trinamool Congress moved Supreme Court, challenging EC’s decision to freeze its party name and symbol.
