Jaipur: A 40-year-old foreign tourist died late Thursday night after she suddenly fell ill at a hotel in Sawai Madhopur district, where she was visiting Ranthambore National Park with friends, police said on Friday.Police have identified the deceased as Mariam Francis, an Irish national, who arrived in Ranthambore on March 25 along with a group and was staying at a hotel in the area.According to police, the group went on two safari visits on Thursday and returned to the hotel later in the day. During the night, Francis complained of uneasiness and her condition deteriorated rapidly.Her friends alerted the hotel staff, who arranged to shift her to a nearby hospital. However, doctors declared her dead after examination.Police said the exact cause of death is yet to be ascertained and further procedures are underway.Officials added that the Embassy of Ireland has been informed and approval is being sought to conduct a post-mortem examination.
