Chennai: Metro train rides to and from M A Chidambaram Stadium will be free for those attending the 44th IPL match of the season, between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians on May 2. Chennai Metro Rail Limited is operating sponsored rides and special late-night train services to reduce traffic congestion and encourage the use of metro trains. A CMRL release said fans with valid match tickets, physical or digital, can travel for free with a round-trip facility to Government Estate metro station, the closest access point to the stadium. The last trains will leave Government Estate station at 1am towards Wimco Nagar Depot and Airport. Entry to the station will be restricted 10 minutes before the last train leaves.
