The team is owned by actors Shah Rukh Khan, Juhi Chawla, and Jay Mehta. The franchise’s home ground is the Eden Gardens, in Kolkata and is known for its passionate “Korbo, Lorbo, Jeetbo” (Perform, Fight, Win) spirit.
At the IPL auction held in December 2025, Kolkata Knight Riders made headlines by securing Australian all-rounder Cameron Green for ₹25.20 Cr, making him the most expensive overseas player in IPL history.
KKR entered the auction with the league’s largest purse of ₹64.3 Cr and successfully filled all 25 squad slots.
Key retentions to the team included Rinku Singh, Sunil Narine, Harshit Rana, and Ramandeep Singh.
Significant players released or lost by KKR during the auction included Shreyas Iyer, Mitchell Starc, Phil Salt, and Venkatesh Iyer.
