Delhi Capitals (DC), one of the Indian Premier League’s (IPL) original franchises, are still chasing that elusive maiden trophy. They were able to make it into the final in 2020 but the silverware slipped through their fingers.

With six playoff appearances, DC’s journey has been a rollercoaster packed with fire, flair and heart-stopping near-misses, but the big prize remains just out of reach.

This season, DC played their cards well, roping in Nitish Rana from the Rajasthan Royals in exchange for Donovan Ferreira. Despite the heartbreak in 2020, DC went all guns blazing at the 2026 IPL auction, bagging international campaigners such as David Miller and Ben Duckett and thus, upgrading its roster.

This year’s IPL 2026 is set to begin on March 28, 2026 and is expected to conclude on May 31. Before the big event kicks off, here’s a list of players and team staff you should know.
