New Delhi: As the admission season gains momentum, students aspiring to specialise in mental health and rehabilitation now have the opportunity to apply for MPhil programmes at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University.

The university is offering two focused courses — rehabilitation psychology and psychiatric social work — with applications open until July 24.

The MPhil programme is conducted in collaboration with two well-known institutions, enhancing the quality and practical exposure for students.

The psychiatric social work programme is offered in partnership with Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. Meanwhile, the rehabilitation psychology programme takes place at the Regional Centre of the National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (NIEPID) in Delhi, an institution known for its work in disability empowerment and rehabilitation. Each of these specialisations offers eight seats.

Spanning two years, the programme is designed to provide comprehensive theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience. “Admission to the course will be determined through a university-administered entrance examination scheduled for Aug 10. This exam will assess candidates’ aptitude and suitability for the rigorous academic and practical components of the programme,” said an official.

Prospective applicants can find detailed information, including eligibility criteria, application procedures, and exam guidelines, on the official website of IP University.

Meanwhile, applications are also open for admission to the four-year BA BEd programme at IP University until July 18. Students who have qualified the National Level Test conducted by NCTE can apply to this integrated teacher education programme (ITEP).

The list of applicants will be released on July 24, and seat allocation will be done after document verification on July 29. The programme is offered at the University School of Education, located in the Dwarka campus, with a total of 60 seats.
