Guwahati: Ten international students from seven countries received graduation certificates at a special ceremony at Tezpur University recently.The graduates, from Botswana, Kenya, Bangladesh, Zambia, Nigeria, Sudan and Nepal, were awarded certificates by pro vice -chancellor Prof. Amarendra Kumar Das at the university’s Council Hall. N Munish Singh, zonal director of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), North East Regional Office, attended as chief guest.Congratulating the students, Prof. Das praised their academic achievements and urged them to remain lifelong learners. He stressed international collaboration, saying India and its partner nations shared goals and challenges.

“India is a mini world with immense diversity, and countries from Africa, Latin America and many other countries are our development partners. A student must continue to study and grow throughout life,” Prof. Das said.Singh highlighted the ICCR’s efforts to promote the northeast through cultural and educational exchanges. He urged the graduates to serve as ambassadors for India and their countries, strengthening people-to-people ties and mutual understanding.Dean of academic affairs Prof. Ashim Jyoti Thakur, registrar (in charge) Prof. Chandan Goswami, controller of examinations Dr. Biren Das, director of international affairs Prof. Subhrangshu Sekhar Sarkar, and all department heads and deans were present at the event.
