New Delhi: A 28-year-old interior designer was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly harassing a 14-year-old girl in south Delhi’s Neb Sarai.According to the girl’s family, when the girl was returning after dropping her younger brother at a nearby tuition centre around 5.30pm, the man, who was riding a scooter, suddenly approached her and tried to persuade her to accompany him. “He told her to sit with him for 10 minutes and kept repeatedly saying, ‘Come with me’,” the girl’s uncle alleged.The girl, who was alone at that time, was shaken and became anxious due to the incident, immediately returned home and informed her family about it. The uncle claimed that the man also rode around their residential lane three-four times, making the girl feel extremely threatened.Alarmed by what happened, the family, along with other residents, approached Neb Sarai police station to demand urgent action against the man.Following the complaint, police registered a case. The man, who lives in Neb Sarai and works as an interior designer, was arrested on Tuesday. Police said investigation was underway to determine whether the suspect had a history of similar harassment incidents.
