Industry leaders at a closed-door CXO roundtable underscored the need for stronger policy execution, infrastructure alignment, and enforceability to accelerate India’s manufacturing ambitions.
Speaking on the sidelines of the JSA Boardroom Connect — Pune Edition, Ashish Suman, Partner, JSA Advocates & Solicitors, said, “Thank you ET for organising this lovely roundtable on manufacturing and with the focus towards Maharashtra and the incentives which have been there for given in the sector by the government and how the industry is reacting to those. What is the view of the industry going forward? How do we scale up the manufacturing, duck-tailing it along with infrastructure development?” Reflecting on the participation and discussions, he added, “So it was a great session widely attended by a stalwart of the industry who are doing business in the Mumbai region itself.”
Sharing the key outcomes, Suman noted, “Key takeaways are that the industry is quite forward-looking. They are resilient about the progress of India as a manufacturing hub, along with supply chain management.”
However, he pointed to gaps that need to be addressed, “The push is needed from the government side. Policy initiatives are there. Implementation needs to improve, along with judicial intervention and enforceability.”
Concluding his remarks, he said, “These were the key takeaways from the session. And once again, I thank ET and my co-panelists for coming together and providing us this opportunity to deep dive into the sectors.”
