Navi Mumbai: An inmate lodged in the Central Prison, Taloja, was allegedly assaulted by another inmate on Wednesday morning. The altercation stemmed from a monetary issue. The accused, Muvin Qadar Shaikh, and the complainant, Altamas Shaikh, were lodged in a barrack. After learning about the fight between the inmates, jail staff took him to the inmate hospital for treatment.The Kharghar police have lodged a complaint for voluntarily causing grievous hurt under the relevant BNS sections. Police sub inspector Sarala Dasgude is investigating the case. As the accused is lodged no arrest has been made.
