The airline commenced commercial operations from Noida airport on June 15 with the inaugural flight from Lucknow to Noida

Noida: IndiGo expanded its network from Noida International Airport on Wednesday, launching flights to nine more cities, including Jaipur, Jodhpur, Dharamshala, Bhopal, Dehradun, Bareilly, Kishangarh, Pantnagar and Chandigarh.The airline commenced commercial operations from Noida airport on June 15 with the inaugural flight from Lucknow to Noida. It has since been running daily flights to Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Jammu and Amritsar.The July 1 additions take the number of cities connected to the airport to 15. Akasa, which started operations from Noida airport on June 16, flies to Bengaluru and Navi Mumbai.While IndiGo will operate daily to most cities, it will fly to Bareilly on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, and Kishangarh (Ajmer) on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.“IndiGo will start direct Navi Mumbai flights on July 10. A direct flight service to Srinagar will also start soon,” NIAL nodal officer Shailendra Bhatia said. Currently, the airline has a Jaipur layover for the Noida-Navi Mumbai route and Noida-Srinagar flights are routed via Chandigarh.RK Shahi, a resident of Sector Zeta 1 in Greater Noida, who flew from Noida airport to Hyderabad on Tuesday afternoon, said, “It took me just 40 minutes to reach the airport from home, against the 90 minutes it usually takes to reach IGI. There’s no rush at Noida airport, so check-in was smooth. The airport is significantly improving the travel experience for people in Noida and Greater Noida.”NIA expects to have the infrastructure for international flights, like customs and immigration, ready by the end of this year.The carrier, meanwhile, introduced IndiGo Lite Fare, a new entry-level economy option for passengers travelling with only cabin baggage up to 7 kg and with an auto-assigned seat at no additional cost. The fare excludes free checked baggage, allowing customers to pay only for the services they use.
