Bettiah: Security agencies from India and Nepal on Thursday held a joint review meeting at the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) camp in Valmikinagar and carried out a coordinated patrol along the India-Nepal border to strengthen vigilance against cross-border crimes.Officials of Nepal’s Armed Police Force (APF), Nepal Police, the SSB and Bihar Police participated in the meeting. Discussions focused on enhancing border security, preventing anti-national activities, curbing the smuggling of narcotics and other contraband, checking the movement of illegal arms, and tackling other cross-border crimes.The two sides agreed to intensify coordination and ensure the timely exchange of intelligence to boost the effectiveness of security operations along the open border.Following the meeting, security personnel from both countries conducted a joint patrol along the Gandak Barrage and other sensitive stretches of the border. Teams monitored suspicious activities and reiterated their commitment to maintaining peace and law and order in the region.SSB inspector Lokesh Bania said officers of all major security agencies deployed along the border attended the review meeting. “Security agencies of both India and Nepal are continuously working in coordination to maintain security, peace and law and order along the India-Nepal border,” he said.Authorities said such joint exercises play a crucial role in strengthening bilateral cooperation and ensuring effective surveillance along the strategically important frontier.
