New Delhi: Delhi Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory ahead of the India-Afghanistan T20 cricket match at Arun Jaitley Stadium Sunday, warning commuters of restrictions, diversions and congestion in the areas around the venue.The match is scheduled from 7pm to 11.30pm, with traffic restrictions likely to be imposed from 2pm to 11.45pm depending on the movement of spectators. Traffic restrictions or diversions may be enforced on Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, DDU Marg, Mirdard Chowk and JLN Marg. The movement of goods vehicles will also be restricted on designated stretches of Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, JLN Marg and DDU Marg.Commuters are advised to avoid JLN Marg, Asaf Ali Road, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg and DDU Marg, particularly during the arrival and dispersal of spectators. Traffic police said congestion is expected during peak hours and urged motorists to follow directions from personnel deployed around the stadium.Spectators are been advised to use the designated routes corresponding to their entry gates. Gates 1-8 can be accessed from Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, while Gates 10-15 can be approached from JLN Marg near Ambedkar Stadium Bus Terminal. Gates 16-18 are accessible from Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg near the petrol pump.Free parking and Park & Ride facilities will be available at Mata Sundari Road, Rajghat Power House Road and Velodrome Road. General spectator parking will not be allowed in the immediate vicinity of the stadium. Only vehicles carrying valid parking labels will be permitted in designated parking areas.Parking will be prohibited on Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, DDU Marg, Mirdard Chowk, JLN Marg and Ring Road from Rajghat to IP Flyover. Vehicles found parked in violation will be towed and prosecuted as per law.
