Kanpur: Degrees and marksheets issued by Shri Krishna University, Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh were found fake during investigation into the case. SIT investigated 103 marksheets of the university and 67 were found forged. Role of the university’s clerks is under lens of the investigators. On Feb 18, Kidwai Nagar police raided office of Shail Group of Education, near Juhi Gaushala intersection and recovered more than 1,000 marksheets and degrees of 14 universities and Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, Prayagraj.These included degrees of several courses, including BTech, MTech, BPharma, DPharma and LLB. Police arrested four accused from the spot. The investigation revealed the gang was preparing fake degrees, migration certificates and marksheets since 2012.Mastermind of the gang has been identified as Shailendra Kumar Ojha, who has been arrested, along with Nagesh Mani Tripathi, Jogendra, Ashwani Kumar Singh and Vineet and sent to jail. Police are contacting the universities and verifying degrees and marksheets recovered from the accused. Kidwai Nagar police recovered 103 documents from the accused, including five MSW marksheets of Shri Krishna University, one of BA BEd, 20 of BSc, 14 of BA, six of BA LLB (Honours), two of BCA, five of BCom, nine of MSc, 11 of MA, 10 of LLB, 1 of PGDCA, three of LLM, along with six polytechnic diplomas and 10 MBA gradesheets, out of which 67 have been found to be fake.SIT in charge Yogesh Kumar said preparations are being made to take the accused on remand. tnn
