International Management Institute (IMI) has redesigned its flagship Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) programme for the 2026-28 academic session, introducing seven specialised career tracks and a unified academic structure across its Delhi, Bhubaneswar and Kolkata campuses.

The revised curriculum, which will be implemented from July 2026, brings all three campuses under a common “One IMI” academic framework with aligned pedagogy, assessments, learning outcomes and programme delivery standards.

According to the institute, the curriculum has been developed in consultation with a global management consulting firm, industry leaders, academic experts and practitioners, following an assessment of changing recruitment trends and workplace expectations.

Under the new structure, the programme will offer seven interdisciplinary career tracks — Consulting and Strategy, Market Expansion and Growth, Finance and Capital Markets, Product Management, People and Organisation, Analytics, and Operations and Supply Chain.

The institute said Artificial Intelligence (AI) fluency and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) literacy have been integrated across disciplines to reflect the growing role of technology and sustainability in business decision-making.

The curriculum overhaul also introduces continuous assessments, simulations, industry-linked labs, block weeks and communication clinics in place of several traditional end-term examinations. IMI said students will work on live business challenges and industry projects from the first term itself.

“Management education cannot afford to remain a lagging indicator of industry change; its responsibility is to anticipate and shape it,” said Suresh Ramanathan, CEO of IMI.

The institute said the programme will culminate in a three-term capstone project designed around live business problems, strategic solutions and venture-building exercises.

Commenting on the impact of AI on future jobs, Arshiya Singh said professionals who use AI effectively are likely to have an advantage as workplace expectations evolve.

The revised curriculum will apply to the incoming 2026-28 batch, while selected specialised electives will also be introduced for the current 2025-27 cohort.
