IMI Delhi appoints new director

New Delhi: International Management Institute (IMI) Delhi has appointed Dr Jones Mathew as its director. In his new role, Mathew will oversee the institute’s academic and institutional development, with a focus on strengthening industry engagement and aligning management education with changing corporate requirements.

Dr Suresh Ramanathan, CEO, IMI, said Mathew’s experience across industry and academia would support the institute’s efforts to strengthen its academic environment and industry partnerships.

“It is an exciting chapter for all of us, and we’re glad to have him on board,” Ramanathan said.

Mathew said his priorities would include strengthening engagement between students and real-world business challenges, encouraging pedagogical innovation and supporting faculty research.

“It is a privilege to join IMI Delhi and take on the responsibility of leading an institution with a 45-year strong legacy in management education,” he said.

Mathew has 18 years of corporate experience and more than 15 years of academic teaching and administrative experience, primarily in marketing. He has worked with organisations including HCL Ltd., MECON, Yonex and Reebok India.

He holds a PhD from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), New Delhi.

Before joining IMI Delhi, Mathew served as Principal and Head of Institution at Great Lakes Institute of Management, Gurgaon. During his tenure, the institute received AACSB and AMBA accreditations, NBA accreditation and was placed among the top 50 management schools in the NIRF rankings.
