Panaji: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Goa, forecasting moderate rainfall across North and South Goa districts during the first week of July. Heavy rainfall is likely at isolated locations. Winds are expected to reach speeds of 30-40kmph, gusting up to 50kmph.The IMD has warned of squally weather along the South Maharashtra-Goa coast, up to 75 km offshore, with winds of 45-55kmph, gusting to 65kmph. Fishermen are advised to avoid venturing into the sea due to adverse weather conditions and hazardous navigation for small vessels.On Sunday, the southwest monsoon was weak over Goa, with light to moderate rainfall in most places. One or two spells of rain are expected during this period. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 31°C and 26°C, respectively. An increase in rainfall is anticipated over the next 3-4 days.
