Agartala: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Agartala forecast widespread rain across Tripura for the next three days due to active monsoon systems over eastern and northeastern India.An orange warning was in place today for West Tripura, Khowai, Dhalai and Gomati, with heavy to very heavy rain in some areas. A statewide yellow warning continued Thursday. On Friday, heavy rain was expected at isolated locations in West Tripura, Khowai, Sepahijala, Gomati and South Tripura.The IMD said conditions were driven by a seasonal trough at mean sea level from southwest Rajasthan to northeast Bangladesh, linked to a low-pressure area over northwest MP and southwest UP, extending through north Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Gangetic Bengal. It said an upper-air cyclonic circulation over northeast Assam up to 3.1 km was boosting moisture over Tripura.
