Budgam, July 17: In a major crackdown on drug peddling, the District Administration Budgam, in coordination with District Police Budgam Friday have demolished four illegally constructed properties allegedly belonging to drug peddlers in the Khansahib Sub-Division.
According to an official, the demolition drive was carried out in the Parnewa and Arigam areas in the presence of revenue and police officials as part of the district’s ongoing campaign against narcotics and illegal assets.
During the operation, authorities razed three structures comprising four shops, a cowshed and a tile factory.
Officials said the action forms part of a sustained drive aimed at dismantling properties illegally acquired or constructed by individuals involved in drug peddling.
“The District Administration and District Police are committed to taking stringent action against drug peddlers and dismantling illegal assets linked to the narcotics trade. Such measures are intended to curb the menace of drugs and safeguard the youth from its harmful impact,” the official said.
The administration reiterated its resolve to continue the anti-drug campaign across the district, warning that strict action will be taken against those involved in the drug trade and any illegal properties associated with such activities.
