Dhanbad: India Post has upgraded the sub-post office at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad into a modern, tech-enabled facility.The newly developed ‘Generation Next Post Office’ was inaugurated on Monday in the presence of IIT (ISM) director Sukumar Mishra.Senior superintendent of Post Offices, Rupak Sinha, said, “It is the third modern post office in Jharkhand and the first in Dhanbad.”The facility offers a range of modern amenities, including Wi-Fi-enabled spaces, a café-style seating arrangement, a mini library, and seamless digital payment options. Core services such as speed post, parcel delivery, and e-commerce logistics will be provided using modern systems. The initiative aims to help young people understand postal operations and utilise services effectively.With the initiative, India Post seeks to bridge the gap between traditional postal services and the digital generation, making post offices more youth-friendly and relevant in today’s fast-evolving communication landscape.
