Varanasi: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), BHU will celebrate Institute Day–2026 Utthaan on June 29.Being organised for the first time in the Institute’s history, Institute Day–2026 has been envisioned as a celebration of institutional transformation, academic excellence, innovation, entrepreneurship, research achievements and societal impact.The programme will bring together distinguished guests, alumni, faculty members, students, researchers, innovators, industry representatives and institutional stakeholders. The event will celebrate the journey of IIT-BHU while creating opportunities for future collaborations and innovation-led growth.A major attraction of Institute Day–2026 will be a large-scale Innovation and Technology Showcase featuring 79 thematic exhibition stalls representing startups, academic departments, centres of excellence, industries and institutional units. The exhibition has been curated across emerging and nationally relevant technology sectors including AgriTech, DeepTech and Artificial Intelligence, MedTech and Bio-Innovation, E-Mobility and Sustainable Technologies, Defence and Strategic Technologies, Centres of Excellence and Frontier Technologies, Academic Research Ecosystem, and Industry and Innovation Ecosystem. IIT-BHU director Prof Amit Patra said that Institute Day–2026 ‘Utthaan’ represents IIT-BHU’s journey of transformation, excellence and societal contribution. The celebration is intended to strengthen the connection among students, faculty, alumni, industry and society while showcasing the Institute’s expanding impact in research, innovation and nation building.
