Jammu: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu has collaborated with the University of Alabama (Birmingham, USA) to study and transform the evolving practices of healthcare mangement. The initiative will bring the healthcare leaders, hospital administrators, medical professionals and industry experts to foster meaningful dialogue on the strategic, technological, financial and human dimensions of healthcare.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu and Professor of Medicine and Business, Assistant Dean for Global Health Innovation at the School of Medicine, and Chief Innovation Officer, University of Alabama Health System, Prof. Rubin Pillay. The collaboration reflects the shared commitment of IIM Jammu and CAHO to strengthening the interface between management education and healthcare practice.
According to the release issued by the institute, “The partnership aims to advance international academic collaboration through faculty and student exchanges, joint research in healthcare AI, machine learning, big data analytics and supply chain management, healthcare innovation and entrepreneurship, and the development of immersive learning models using Augmented and Virtual Reality (AR/VR).”
Adding to this, “It will also foster joint academic programmes, conferences and knowledge exchange, creating new avenues for interdisciplinary research, technology transfer and innovation in healthcare management.”
A major highlight of the Global CEO Conclave was the organisation of seven dedicated CEO war rooms, designed to facilitate experience-driven discussions on key challenges confronting the healthcare sector. The sessions focused on critical areas, including AI in healthcare, strategic leadership, financial sustainability, hospital operations and patient experience, digital marketing, workforce retention and women’s leadership.
