Prayagraj: The Indian Institute of Information Technology Allahabad (IIIT-A) will organise the 11th summer training programme on VLSI design (STPVD 2026) from June 19 to July 18.STPVD 2026 is designed to provide participants with comprehensive hands-on exposure to analogue and digital integrated circuit (IC) design, enabling them to build a strong foundation in microelectronics and VLSI (Very-Large-Scale Integration) technology.The event is technically co-sponsored by the IEEE circuits and systems society, UP section chapter.More than 80 BTech and BE students from across the country, including Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Telangana, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Odisha, Tamil Nadu and Uttarakhand, will participate in the programme.The training will cover analog and digital IC design, FPGA implementation using Verilog HDL, hands-on sessions with industry-standard Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools such as Cadence and Synopsys, and an introduction to semiconductor fabrication methodologies.The inaugural ceremony will feature a keynote address by Satya Narayan Gupta, president, VLSI Society of India, on the topic “VLSI Industry Insights: Trends and Opportunities.”Gupta will share valuable perspectives on industry expectations, emerging career opportunities, and the skills required for aspiring VLSI professionals in the rapidly evolving semiconductor sector.The programme is expected to serve as a platform for students to interact with leading experts from academia and industry while gaining practical experience with state-of-the-art VLSI design tools and technologies.With India’s growing focus on semiconductor manufacturing and chip design under the national semiconductor mission, STPVD 2026 aims to equip young engineers with the knowledge and skills required to contribute to the future of the semiconductor industry.
