Prayagraj: The Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad (IIIT-A), is set to launch a two-year (four-semester) MTech program in Quantum Information & Technologies (QIT) from July 2026. The announcement was made by IIIT-A director prof Mukul Sharad Sutaone at the inaugural session of the four-day workshop on Quantum Information and Technology (FQIT) held at the Jhalwa campus on Thursday.Prof Sutaone stated that the multidisciplinary program has been designed to develop skilled professionals for the evolving quantum ecosystem. Key features of the programme include Quantum Computing & Simulation, Quantum Information & Communication, Quantum Materials & Devices, Quantum Neural Networks, and Quantum & Post-Quantum Cryptography.The program will benefit from academic and research collaborations with premier institutions, including C-DAC Pune, Harish-Chandra Research Institute (HRI), Prayagraj, and IISER Pune, ensuring high-quality training and exposure for students, he said. The program will offer 25 seats, and admissions will be conducted through centralised counselling for M Tech / M Arch /M Plan admissions (CCMT). The workshop was inaugurated by prof Ujjwal Sen from HRI, Prayagraj. tnn
