Lucknow/Mathura: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday called upon the Sanatan community to unite.“My interest cannot be greater than Sanatan and national interest. When revered saints set aside personal, institutional, sectarian, and denominational interests and began to think about Sanatan interest, then widespread awakening, divine radiance, and miracles are witnessed,” said the CM.He was in Mathura to attend the Shri Sitaram Nikunj Ashtayam Leela Mahotsav organised on the occasion of the 452nd birth anniversary of Sant Shrimad Jagadguru Dwaracharya Shri Malookdas Ji Maharaj.Claiming that chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram’ invited sticks and batons before 2017, Yogi said, “When seers came together, they managed to get Ram Temple in Ayodhya after a period of 500 years. So, if all Sanatan followers unite, no adversary or those conspiring against Hindus would be able to harm India in any way.”“This journey must continue with the resolve of ‘Charaiveti-Charaiveti’, without stopping, getting tired, wavering, or bending,” he said.He claimed that in Sambhal, the Shri Harihar Temple was demolished by the descendants of Babur in 1526. They also erased 67 pilgrimage sites and 19 wells, he added.“Riots took place in 1976-78 in which hundreds of Hindus were killed. In 1995-96, under Samajwadi Party govt cases against perpetrators were withdrawn. I met a member of one such family who told me that their property had been looted, and they had fled to Delhi to save their lives. I assured them that their property would be restored,” he said.Another instance he mentioned was the redevelopment of the Kashi Vishwanath Dham. When he became CM in 2017, he said, not even 50 people could visit the temple together due to narrow lanes but now, 50,000 devotees can visit the temple simultaneously.
