If James Bond Were a Woman, She'd Wear Sergio Hudson Spring 2027

Each season, designer Sergio Hudson pays homage to a powerful female figure. In the past, he’s referenced Aretha Franklin, Cruella de Vil and Jacqueline Broyer from the 1992 film “Boomerang.” For Spring 2027, he was inspired by James Bond — if he were a woman.

“The starting point for this collection was James Bond reversed, where the woman is the agent and the man is the ingenue being chased by her,” he told Fashionista backstage ahead of the show. “You’ll see a lot of strong images of women in the show who are very sexy, powerful and have ‘I’ll take control of this’ [energy].”

This results in a fall proposal full of jumpsuits with plunging necklines, see-through, fitted dresses and hand-draped chiffon gowns. Tailoring — a Sergio Hudson signature — is ever-present, taking shape in bold-hued, monochromatic skirt suits. A standout look is a red chiffon dress, a piece “that has my heart right now,” Hudson said.

“We’re taking the Sergio Hudson woman into another decade,” Hudson added. “This is our 10-year anniversary, and our last show was a retrospective that elevated our classic woman. This season, I wanted to really move her forward and into a new direction.”
